Courageous Leaders Academy

Are you committed to going beyond demonstrating sensitivity to diversity? Applications are currently being accepted for the second year of a unique leadership opportunity which aspires to develop courageous leaders who will be dedicated to transforming SRJC’s culture!

The mission of the Courageous Leaders Academy is to demonstrate our commitment to students with a sense of urgency by developing leaders who are committed to actively promoting an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism and accessibility. Participants will be provided with opportunities to promote culture change to support the District’s retention efforts of SRJC employees. Participants will be student-centered activists who strive to make a difference for future generations by cultivating the seeds of change that have been planted at SRJC and bringing life to new ways of educating our college community at a micro level while restoring hope for more significant changes at the macro level. Together, we will envision what it means to take action by developing measurable outcomes to ensure systemic and sustainable transformation at SRJC.

Tangible tools and strategic leadership coaching from experts will be provided and participants will work on team projects to put our words, intentions and learning into action. This is a “working academy”, organized and directed by employee affinity group leaders and the Embracing a Culture of Inclusion program partnership. Participants must be committed to becoming equipped to courageously taking the lead in facilitating efforts to create a safe and inclusive environment for addressing issues of bias, discrimination and exclusion at the District.
