Below is information on the retirement process, including SRJC retiree health insurance and deadlines.

Sample retirement letter - please use this sample template to let us know what your last day on pay will be at SRJC and what date you're retiring from CalSTRS or CalPERS.

 

Deadlines

Early Retirement Option (ERO) Deadlines

FACULTY and ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATORS:

If you're retiring in December, the deadline to submit your ERO application and retirement letter to SRJC is the first Friday of the fall semester.

If you're retiring at the end of the school year in May then the deadline to submit your ERO application and retirement letter to SRJC is October 1.

Faculty/Academic Administrator ERO Application

 

CLASSIFIED and MANAGEMENT:

The deadline to submit your ERO application and retirement letter to SRJC is no later than 4 months prior to your retirement date.

Deadline if you don't qualify for ERO

If you don't qualify for ERO, the deadline to submit your retirement letter to SRJC is no later than 3 months prior to your retirement date.

 

CalPERS and CalSTRS Deadlines

If you're enrolled in CalPERS, click here for the retirement checklist. You'll want to submit your retirement application to CalPERS 3 - 4 months prior to your retirement date.

If you're enrolled in CalSTRS, click here for the retirement checklist. You'll want to submit your retirement application to CalSTRS no earlier than 6 months prior to your retirement date.

Stipend Rates

As of 7/1/23 the rates will be $164.90/month for single; $329.80/month for self plus spouse/domestic partner.
