WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
ALL individuals actively employed by Santa Rosa Junior College. This includes classified, faculty, adjunct faculty, administrators, instructional assistants and student employees. An employee can be awarded Employee of the Month only once. Here is a list of past EOM recipients.

WHO CAN NOMINATE AN EMPLOYEE?
ANY SRJC EMPLOYEE can nominate another employee. If an employee is selected by the Employee of the Month Committee and the nominator is not the nominee's supervisor, the Committee must receive the support of the supervisor for the nomination to go forward. MORE THAN ONE PERSON can participate in the nomination of an employee.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
Nominations are reviewed by the Committee and, if not selected right away, will be kept in the pool for one calendar year from receipt. The Committee likes to have a balance from the community, so it is not a reflection on the employee nominated if they are held for a while. Special circumstances are considered by the Committee for requests to be honored at a specific date.

IF A SUPERVISOR NOMINATES ONE EMPLOYEE FOR EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH, WILL IT CREATE BAD MORALE WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT?
On the contrary. Of the departments that actively nominate on a regular basis, it could have the opposite effect, i.e.; they and the department feel recognition for a continued effort toward service. If a supervisor is concerned that this may happen, s/he can have everyone participate by having a secret ballot, or encourage his employees to nominate a co-worker. The important thing is that all departments be represented over a period of time.

WHAT POINTS SHOULD I CONSIDER IN NOMINATING AN EMPLOYEE?
1. Contribution to students and/or fellow employees.
2. Demonstration of commitment to the mission and goals of the institution.
3. Other related qualities, such as: dedication, cooperation, initiative.
